Hotel Review – Krumer’s Post

Last weekend we spent a relaxing wellness weekend at the Krumers Post Hotel & Spa in the Olympic region of Seefeld, in Tyrol. Seefeld is only half an hour away from Innsbruck by train and is easily accessible by public transport, as the regional transport Innsbruck – Munich stops in Seefeld (so no reason to take the car). Here is a short summary of my impressions of the hotel offer.

By the way: if you also feel like taking a break after my descriptions, you can book great offers at Perfectfor2, for example.

Room

Our junior suite was very spacious with nice bathroom and separate toilet. The TV reminded me a bit of times gone by, but it worked perfectly. The small wooden balcony with a view of the village square was also very nice, but unfortunately we did not use it due to the wintry weather.

A huge bottle of champagne was also waiting for us in the room, which we had unmasked as a very cheap champagne variant after a short Google search. Here I would have preferred to find a slightly smaller bottle of higher quality. In the bathroom there was both a shower and a bath tub, but unfortunately there was no bath salt and/or foam available…

Otherwise, there is absolutely nothing to complain about in the room. The room décor also fits well with the historic building complex (Krumer’s Post is one of the oldest buildings around the Seefeld village square).

Wellness

It only takes two words: Absolutely fantastic. Spread over three floors, there is a fairly new wellness oasis, which is beautifully simple and evokes a feeling of well-being just by looking at it. It has a spacious pool area, which offers a beautiful view over the rooftops of Seefeld. There are also various relaxation areas where you can relax and fruit juices and tea are available. In the spa area there is the classic Finnish sauna, a bio sauna, a steam bath and experience showers.

We had the opportunity to test the “Private Spa” offer for an hour. For this purpose, a separate room with shower, bio sauna and relaxation bed is provided. In addition, you get a body scrub and a body oil. A really great offer. We enjoyed this hour to the fullest and then started the evening with silky soft skin (thanks to the peeling).

Eat

Included in the prices was twice a 5-course dinner, the morning buffet and the afternoon snack.

At the afternoon snack, a soup and a salad, as well as various pieces of cake, are served. Ideal for a little refreshment in between, but not a culinary flight of fancy.

The first dinner disappointed me a bit. Due to the claim that “mainly regional and seasonal products are created”, I was especially amazed by the dessert selection (fruit salad, Coupe Denmark and some lemon mousse). I mean, autumn has so much to offer in terms of culinary delights, so why such standard dessert variations? The rest – salad plate from the buffet, pumpkin soup, veal medallion and cheese plate – was fine.

The second dinner on Sunday evening was fortunately a 6-course gala dinner and was able to satisfy me completely. There was the following menu:

– Medallion of monkfish with mousseline of truffle potato

– Rabbit gelatin with pineapple and celery salad

–          Consommé mit Perlhuhntascherl

– Blood orange sorbet with sparkling wine

– Saddle of local veal with fried peanut polenta and vegetables

– Two kinds of the Callebautschokolade (a dream!)

In the morning there was a rich buffet with many fruits and a great selection of different types of honey. The egg dishes were freshly prepared to order and were delicious. The coffee was served at the tables, but unfortunately it was brewed and you couldn’t order a fresh latte macchiato, for example.

I really enjoyed this weekend at Krumer’s Post and started the new working week fresh afterwards.
