Hotel Review – Nu Hotel Milano

We spent our last weekend in Milan. Since we only needed a hotel for one night, we wanted to treat ourselves to some luxury. I don’t know about you, but if I only need a hotel for one night, I’m somehow much less price sensitive than if I need a place to stay for several nights. In addition to the positive surprise that Milan is really beautiful (I don’t know why I thought it wasn’t beautiful…) the Nu Hotel Milano also kept its promises.

No Hotel Milan

We stayed in the 4-star hotel “Nu”, which is located near the Udine metro station just outside the historic center. The hotel is not suitable for people who don’t want to use the subway, otherwise I think the location is great (Green Line, 5 stops from Centrale). For the use of the metro there is the possibility to buy a 48-hour tourist card for about 8 euros, which we did right away.

The hotel is relatively new and, in my opinion, stylishly furnished. What fascinated me the most was the very special clock at the reception. The hotel concept is then also “think design, think technology, “think innovative”.

There are 38 rooms in total and each one is designed differently. In our room, the theme of “red” was predominant. The room is relatively small but functionally well put together and nicely arranged. I also liked the bathroom and the best part was the huge waterfall shower. I don’t know about you, but I could spend hours in a shower like that. The ultra-modern TV (which can also be used as a computer) greeted me by name and fortunately there was also free WiFi.

On the one hand, the negative point is that the bed does not touch a wall directly and therefore I could not sit comfortably in bed upright, leaning against it. On the other hand, we were very irritated by an incredibly bright green light (emergency exit signal?) that lit up all night.

The morning buffet is served in the restaurant at the top of the roof. The selection was not extensive, but nicely arranged. What was special was that the buffet also included sushi. On the positive side, you get the drinks prepared to your liking and I started the day well with an incredibly delicious latte macchiato.

We booked the whole thing booking.com / room rate 116 euros for Saturday to Sunday

Conclusion: If you like to ride the metro and like a more special ambience, you are in good hands here.
