10,000 roses to fall in love with
At the beginning of the 20th century, the “coffee king” Hermann Sielcken donated 10,000 rose bushes in 400 varieties of roses to the city of Baden-Baden in honour of his wife. However, the park was named after Baden-Baden’s mayor of the time, Albert Gönner.
To this day, the patronage facility has lost none of its splendour. From Lichtentaler Allee, the park can be reached via one of the many richly decorated bridges. The entrance is slightly hidden away from the Oosbach. If you take the time to look for the entrance, you will be rewarded with a rich display of flowers.
Rose arches span paths, the flower beds overflow with colourful blossoms and romantic benches invite you to linger. A place I love in.
All the beauty is hard to capture with a lens. I did my best and that’s why I’m going to love you with roses today.
