The endless expanses of the United States of America can be optimally experienced by rental car. In this way, the varied landscape becomes “tangible” in the truest sense of the word. Outside the conurbations, the highways are usually low-traffic; comfortable and relaxed driving is therefore pre-programmed. All sights can be easily reached by car. Overnight stays are also no problem: Everywhere along the highways – especially in preferred tourist regions – there are motels, which make it very easy for car travelers to stay overnight.
It is best to book your vehicle before you start your trip. Every major car rental company in the U.S. has a branch at major airports; so you can pick up your vehicle as soon as you arrive.
Above all, the plane is an alternative for the “big jump” from the east to the west coast. If you have enough time, you can also reach many destinations by long-distance bus. An alternative are the often quite comfortable railways. However, the route network is nowhere near as dense as in Europe.

The greatest sights in the USA
Outstanding sights are on the one hand well-known buildings and on the other hand parks – both nature parks and amusement parks.
The Empire State Building in New York enjoys a legendary reputation. Built in 1931, it was the tallest building in the city for a long time at 443 meters. The observation deck on the 102nd floor offers a view over the giant city.
Mount Rushmore in South Dakota can also be considered an impressive “building”. Since 1938, four presidents’ heads have been carved in stone here. The portraits rise 18 meters into the air.
Every visitor to the U.S. should check out at least one of the major national parks. The Grand Canyon in Arizona attracts five million people every year. The view down into the one- to two-kilometre-deep gorge is breathtaking.
East of San Francisco is Yosemite National Park. It offers pure nature: green forests, springs and striking granite rocks characterize the landscape. The numerous waterfalls are very popular; the most famous are the “Yosemite Falls”, which plunge over a few steps over 700 meters.

USA – an ideal travel destination for children
Children feel particularly well taken care of in the land of Mickey Mouse. And it is probably also thanks to its popularity with kids that Disney World has become the most important tourist destination in the USA. Around 50 million visitors flock to Florida annually to experience the amusement park’s myriad attractions live.
Traveling with an attachment is very easy in the USA. The motels are well suited to families: they often have spacious rooms with beds for up to four people. Children do not have to sleep on folding sofas, but have a real bed.
Restaurants also lovingly take care of the young guests. There are often special children’s menus; in buffet restaurants, the kids put together their own food. And last but not least: McDonalds & Co. greet you from everywhere.

Extra tip: Get married in Las Vegas It’s relatively easy to get married in Vegas
. If you are over 18 years old, go with your chosen one to the “Clark County Clerk” in Las Vegas and get a marriage license for a fee. Then the future couple looks for a nice wedding chapel – there are countless in the city. Often, it works out directly without prior registration: the couple simply goes there, is married – in English – and receives the corresponding certificate. If necessary, the wedding chapel will also provide the best man if no one else is available. By the way: In Las Vegas there are even “drive-in weddings”!
