5 years of Travelita: camera raffle including photo day

On March 12, 2012, the first tentative attempt at a “blog post” went online here on travelita.ch. It took another five months until I threw myself fully into the blog project on August 4, 2012. In the five months in between, I completed my master’s degree at ETH Zurich and – with my master’s degree in my pocket – finally had time for hobbies again. It doesn’t really matter whether the March date or the August date counts as the official blog launch – one thing is certain: Travelita is celebrating its 5th anniversary this year. And when I think about it, it’s sheer madness. FIVE years! Even more unbelievable to me is how we have grown in these five years and what we have been able to experience. And since this would be much less fun without you numerous dear readers, we have prepared a competition for the fifth anniversary of the blog. As a thank you for your loyalty and the constantly motivating feedback!

For the launch of the competition, however, we had to wait until last Friday. Some of you know that in the summer of 2015 we replaced the Canon 5D Mark III with a Sony a7rii as the main camera. From this point on, the Canon served as a backup camera and second camera for shoots (especially when fast focus was required). For the decision to rely 100% on Sony, we wanted to wait for the development of the successor models of the a7rii. With the announcement of the Sony a9 this spring, it was clear to us that together with the a7rii, the a9 forms the perfect duo. Last Friday we got the message that the camera was ready to be picked up and yesterday we picked it up at the photo shop. So the time has come to say goodbye to the Canon for good. We bought the camera new in the spring of 2014 – used it intensively for a year and have only used it sporadically since the summer of 2015. The residual value of the camera is around 1,500 CHF. But we don’t want to sell the camera, we want to give it to one of you – and that’s not all!

With this anniversary competition, we are giving away our Canon equipment including a photo day with us. The price includes:

• EF 17-40 mm f/4
• EF 24-105 mm f/4
• EF 70-300 mm F/4-5.6 IS USM
• A photo day by individual arrangement

We design the photo day according to your wishes. This can be a hike together, a city walk or specific photo coaching.

Important: Only persons residing in Switzerland are eligible to participate (we do not ship the photo equipment abroad).
