Common Ground – Biennale Architecture 2012
Venice and the Biennale belong together – and in addition to the Art Biennale, there is also an Architecture Biennale. The 13th Architecture Biennale will take place this year from 29 August to 25 November. The exhibition was put together under the motto “Common Ground” under the direction of David Chipperfield. During my visit to Venice, I couldn’t resist visiting the exhibition despite the floods and hope to animate some of you to a last-minute architecture trip with my impressions.
The main exhibition takes place in Giardini and Arsenale, both of which are within walking distance of St. Mark’s Square. A normal entrance fee for adults costs 20 euros. Here are some impressions:
Entrance area – great title for an exhibition that is thought-provoking and inspiring.
Interactive “shifting ground” installation at the Pavilion of Ireland
The U-TT (Urban Think Thank) deals with the topic of “improvisation” around the café
Original designs and futuristic creations
Rethinking in Berlin – from the airport to the thought project to the urban open space
