Falkensteiner Balance Resort Stegersbach – space to feel good
Autumn time is wellness time. When the days get shorter again and the high fog stubbornly doesn’t let a ray of sunshine through for days, a feel-good weekend is welcome. The invitation to a long weekend in one of Falkensteiner’s Premium Collection hotels came at just the right time. The Falkensteiner Balance Resort is located in southern Burgenland. Actually, the region would be known for its many hours of sunshine, but for our weekend persistent rain was announced. What the heck, perfect for wellness and relaxation.
Since southern Burgenland is not exactly around the corner, we had planned three overnight stays. Stegersbach can be reached from Switzerland either by a fairly long car ride or by plane via Vienna. We chose the plane and drove the remaining 130 km from Vienna Airport to Stegersbach. There are also regular bus connections from Vienna to Stegersbach (Dr. Richard bus line).
When we reached Stegersbach, it was already pitch dark outside. Checking in, inspecting the room and sleeping afterwards, that was the plan. Our deluxe double room surprised with a spacious floor plan, bright colors and apples on the pillows. You know: “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”. This is also a short and crisp description of the philosophy at the Balance Resort.
A room to my liking. Only the unbelievably clean glass wall between the bathroom and the bed caused trouble twice…
The next morning we also enjoyed the great view. The large windows bring the gentle hilly landscape of southern Burgenland directly into the room. Although, without the sun, everything is only half as great.
On a short tour of the hotel, we were able to discover the special places around the Balance Resort. The hotel is nestled in a well-kept garden, which offers many secluded places to linger or sunbathe in summer. The outdoor seminar rooms are funny. By means of high hedges, small chambers have been created that can be used during meetings, depending on the weather conditions. Great idea! A real eye-catcher is the six-storey atrium, around which the public areas (reception, bar and restaurant) are located and offers an unobstructed view of the garden side. It is also striking that a lot of wood was used and individual elements are skilfully staged as eye-catchers. If you are looking for stylish cosiness, you will like the Falkensteiner Balance Resort Stegersbach.
Then we went in search of the perfect balance. The Acquapura Balance program is based on four pillars: Shape, Relax, Fitness, Beauty. Depending on their personal well-being, the guest can choose his or her own program. For us, the focus was on recreation – relaxation. What could be better than starting the spa day with an anti-stress back treatment?
And during the 50 minutes of treatment, the stress was actually far away! I was so relaxed that I almost fell asleep. The treatment consists of a massage and a heat pack. While the algae heat pack bubbles away on the back, the legs and feet are massaged. I can highly recommend it!
After the massage is before jumping into the infinity pool. The spa landscape is huge. In addition to the spacious sauna area, there is also a whirlpool and an indoor and outdoor pool. In between the bathing fun you can relax in the relaxation rooms. The highlight for me was the outdoor pool with a view of Burgenland. Only the sunset was missing.
The Balance Resort Stegersbach not only invites you to feel good, but also offers a lot for connoisseurs and sports enthusiasts. More on this in the next report.
Note: I was invited by Falkensteiner to this stay – thank you very much for this. As always, my readers can be sure that I always represent my views and enthusiasm here.
