Instatrip: Canada squared

I’ll take you to Canada for five minutes. Ok? I don’t want to withhold my favorite moments from the road, which I posted live on my Instagram profile.

First hurdle: Approach to London Heathrow with transfer to the larger plane to Calgary. It worked without incident.

First of all, get an overview. From Sulphur Mountain, there’s a bird’s eye view of Banff.

Ice, Ice Baby. I survived the icy Johnston Canyon without falling.

My photographic highlight was the beautiful, icy cold evening at Vermilion Lakes.

Off-road! Honestly, with these scenically impressive routes, even I became a road trip fan.

Bye-Bye Alberta! Until next time.

Even more Canada

While I love to post my impressions from the road, I’m also curious who else posts pictures under the local hashtags #mybanff, #myjasper, #exploreAlberta (…) or with the same geotags. In the process, I discovered some great photographers and Instagrammers who now feed my wanderlust with fantastic Alberta pictures every day.

The official @travelalberta account is great for discovering new Instagrammers, as it reposts the most amazing pictures. More recently, the Instagram account @instahikes was launched, where hiking routes are presented. An interesting project that shows new uses of Instagram.

The local hero around Banff is @paulzizka. The Bow Valley is his photo stomping ground and his pictures have a high WOW factor.

There are also great pictures to marvel at at @calsnape. My goodness, I want to pack my suitcase again and travel back to Canada.

Taylor Jones @someone is @skilouise’s social media manager and a passionate photographer with attention to detail. His creativity made him famous almost overnight with the project “Dear Photograph“. Even today, he likes to experiment with new tools and, for example, has set up a Snapchat account for the Lake Louise ski area, which he also actively and successfully runs for real-time communication with ski guests. It is thanks to him that I now also have a Snapchat profile (travelita). Still, I haven’t warmed up to it yet. How do you feel about Snapchat? Addictive factor high or rather so, well?
