My winter on Instagram – Swiss edition

And it’s March again… how time flies! So it’s high time to show you my second Instagram Winter series – before the blooming crocuses take over. Although, winter isn’t quite over for me yet, but more about that later.

After I had talked about the lack of snow in my January-winter interim report and was able to show mainly muddy brown pictures from Finland, I found winter again in the Swiss mountains despite my absence in the lowlands. The last few weeks have been all about the Swiss winter and I’ve discovered some new ski resorts.

#Lenzerheide

Coincidentally, my visit to Lenzerheide coincided with the opening of the new Urdenbahn, which now connects Lenzerheide with Arosa. The ski resort has not yet really convinced me due to poorly prepared routes and ski bus delays.

#Mürren

Steel-blue skies, powder snow en masse and no people – with these three powerful arguments, Mürren wrapped us around his finger. We only did one snowshoe tour here, but I can recommend it 100%.

#Villars

The weekend in Villars was mixed in terms of weather. Sun, snow, fog – we were presented with the whole range. I was pleasantly surprised by the size and variety of the ski area and the relatively moderate ticket prices (without glacier children up to 9 years free of charge, from 9 34 CHF, youth 47 CHF, adults 52 CHF). I also fell in love with the beautiful chalet village of Les Diablerets. I hope to see you again in the summer.

#Andermatt

In Andermatt I was allowed to spend the night in luxury (more about that soon here on the blog) and fight my way through snow and fog down the Bernhard-Russi-Run. The high alpine terrain on the Gemsstock is actually a paradise for experienced skiers and experienced freeriders. For me, it was more of a struggle than fun that day due to the miserable visibility.

#Eriz

Back to the roots – I learned to ski in Innereriz. This time, on a much too warm Saturday afternoon, I returned to the Eriz Valley (border between the Bernese Oberland and the Emmental) with my snowshoes. But trudging through the snow at 12 degrees in your winter clothes and snowshoes, even in this remote area, feels kind of wrong.

#Zermatt

After a winter hike last winter and two great hikes in summer, it was time to discover Zermatt on skis. Does the ski resort really justify the high ticket prices (75 CHF Zermatt, 86 CHF Zermatt-Cervinia)? The article on this will follow shortly :)

And now the winter is slowly but surely over. What’s next? Next week I’ll be in my beloved Berlin for four days. On the one hand, because the travel fair (ITB Berlin) is taking place and on the other hand, to have an extensive brunch, take a photo tour in Neukölln and finally see the Tempelhof. Afterwards – sorry – it’s back into the snow. Ischgl and Adelboden are on the agenda. In April, however, I will definitely leave the white wonderland behind me and set about implementing some items on my bucket list: Slovenia, Italy, Regensburg, Copenhagen, Belgium and Norway await me!

Note: Some trips have been supported by the local tourism organizations and hotels. As always, my readers can be sure that I always represent my views and enthusiasm here.
