Travel snapshot – Attractive Obernai

Obernai is located about 25 km southwest of Strasbourg in the middle of beautiful Alsace. Obernai is not one of those towns that are located directly on the famous Alsace Wine Route, but it is still worth a visit. I visited Obernai as a day trip from Strasbourg and was charmed by the historically intact city center (although it felt more like a village than a city) and the extensive vineyards around the village.

And what can you do in Obernai?

Well, wandering from winery to winery and indulging in the liquid gold, drinking lemonade in the delightful village center (I’ll never forget how I convinced 4 guys there to drink lemonade with me), eating ice cream, climbing up a vineyard and enjoying the view, renting bikes and riding up to the Hohenburg (there are also e-bikes) or lying in a park and listening to the rustling of leaves. Sounds good, right?

So much for today – that’s all I can :) produce at 36 degrees.
