Cheers to November

Everything falls into place and fulfills,
you just have to be able
to wait and give the year and fields to the development of
your happiness abundantly.

Until one day you feel
that
ripe fragrance of the grains and set out and lead the harvest
into the deep granaries.

– Christian Morgenstern

If someone were to ask me about my favorite month, I would hardly spontaneously answer “November”. It’s more like January, because I’m a January child, or May, because everything seems so wonderfully new and fresh. And yet, Monday deserves an ode among the months. Dear November, I like you! Below is a selection of activities that are particularly fun in the 11th month of the year.

– Playing with the fog

Okay, days of high fog can hit the mind. But you can actively combat this by either diving directly into the gray fog realm in between or looking for the fog upper limit and then looking down at the fluffy cloud cover.

– Colourful forest walks

The colourful autumn does not end at the end of October. On the contrary, the longer autumn lasts, the more colourful the forest floor becomes and the light finds its way through the thinning canopy again.

– Lonely moments of
nature

In November, nature belongs to those who dare to go outside. You don’t want to meet a soul? Great, then wrap up warm with the tried and tested onion layer and go out into nature.

– Sonnenspektakel

From mid-November to mid-December there are the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises. And best of all, you don’t even have to get up extra early or stay up late.

-Holidays

City trips in November are twice as much fun. First of all, you benefit from the low season and get hotel rooms and plane tickets at much cheaper prices than in the high-priced summer months and locally the rush to tourist spots is limited. Perfect! Personally, I think you can visit almost every city in November. In November, for example, I was already in Paris, Salzburg, Barcelona and Budapest.

– Kaffeepausen

It’s grey and cold? A good reason to spend a leisurely afternoon at your favorite coffee with your best friend or a captivating book.

– Escape into the white splendor

And if you still have the feeling that the ceiling is falling on your head – don’t panic! Because hei, those ski resorts that are located high enough (including Zermatt, Saas Fee, Corviglia, Laax, Sölden, Stubai, Kaunertal, Hintertux, Pitztal) already attract visitors in November with perfectly groomed slopes and steel-blue skies. And here, too, you have the slopes virtually to yourself and benefit from lower pre-season ticket prices.

And if you’re still not convinced, listen to Smaracuja. She created a fabulous playlist called “Autumn is okay” and I admit, the music has been running up and down in an endless loop ever since. Thank you Nina for this adorable November soundtrack!
