Hotel Review – Seedamm Plaza

As you know, I like to travel around Switzerland. Of course, it’s even better if I can combine my trips to Switzerland with a hotel stay, because such a night in a hotel gives me the feeling of being on vacation. So I was happy about the invitation from the Hotel Seedamm Plaza and was curious what to expect. The Seedamm Plaza is a popular congress hotel during the week and also offers interesting themed packages (Romance, Casino, Alpamare) for the weekends.

Location / Arrival

The Seedamm Plaza is located near the Pfäffikon train station in the canton of Schwyz with a view of Lake Zurich. At first glance, this may not seem like a particularly exciting destination, but there is so much to experience in the area that I will write an additional article about it. As (almost) always, we arrived by public transport via Zurich. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from Pfäffikon train station to the hotel. However, the hotel is also optimally developed for those travelling by car, as it has a huge car park and is located directly on the lake dam.

When entering the entrance hall, the first thing you notice at first glance is the Facebook Like screen (according to the hotel, the first in Switzerland). Actually quite a funny idea.

Room

I was pleasantly surprised by our double room Plaza. The room was incredibly bright and generously designed. The large double bed was super comfortable and we slept wonderfully in it.

We were lucky enough to have a great terrace (which is bigger than my balcony at home) to the room. In summer, you can certainly spend pleasant hours here with a view of Lake Zurich. Also a big plus for the bathroom, which had both a shower and a bathtub.

The only point of criticism is the carpeting, which I don’t like at all. As far as I know, not all rooms are carpeted, but there are also some with wooden floors.

Fitness & Wellness

The topic of “welltainment” is at the heart of the hotel’s offering. There is a fitness and wellness area. In addition, bikes can be rented at the hotel for round trips around the Obersee. The so-called Bluetrail, a themed trail around the hotel complex on the theme of relaxation and energy, is also funny.

We took a closer look at the wellness area and sweated profusely in the classic sauna, relaxed in the bio sauna, enjoyed the experience shower in between and finally dared to take a detour to the steam bath. A small but fine wellness area that I like.

Environment

The Seedamm Plaza has several good restaurants, a bar and a casino. So there is quite a lot going on in the evening. We then sat down for an aperitif in the PULS Bar & Lounge and didn’t know what to order because of all the cocktails on the menu. I then decided on the poisonous looking “Free Fall” and we shared fried king prawns to go with it. Great way to start the evening.

Breakfast

The best thing about an overnight stay in a hotel actually follows the next day – namely the breakfast buffet. The Seedamm Plaza has inspired me in every respect with the rich buffet – fruits, croissants, dark grain bread, regional cheese, fresh fruit juices – that delights my gourmet heart. A big plus also for the fact that the coffee is served fresh and a latte macchiato can also be ordered.

Result

It doesn’t always have to be exotic places, does it? For this reason, I recommend the Seedamm Plaza to all those who want to treat themselves to a weekend break without the stress of travelling. I definitely liked it a lot!

Note: I was invited by the Hotel Seedamm Plaza – thank you very much for this. Nevertheless, my readers can be sure that I always represent my views and enthusiasm here.
