Inspiration to start the year
The first Instagram post of this year went online last Friday with the traditional 16 travel ideas. For the first “legitimate” Instagram Travel Thursday post in 2016, I’m reviewing the year 2015 with your nine favorite pictures and presenting my favorite Instagram discoveries for inspiration for the start of the year. I like a breath of fresh air in my timeline from time to time and I’m always happy when I discover inspiring accounts.
If you were to take my nine “best” pictures (measured by the number of likes) as a yardstick, then I wouldn’t have to travel abroad anymore. Among these nine pictures, I did not take a single picture in Switzerland. In January, more and more pictures from Switzerland will follow. You can look forward to pictures from the Lower Engadine, Vals, Silvretta area and the Upper Valais.
No. 1 – Belalp – I’m flying – a dream day on the Belalp
No. 2 – Lake Oeschinen – Ice skating on Lake Oeschinen
No. 3 – Simplon Pass – Indian Summer in the Simplon Region
Nr 4 – Seealpsee – Appenzellerland for beginners
Nr 5 – Grundsee – Circular hike Anenhütte
Nr 6 – Saas Fee – My first 4oooer – up to the Allalinhorn
Nr 7 – Gompm Alm – this is the taste of Merano and environs
Nr 8 – Moiry – Postcard motifs in the Val d’Anniviers
Nr 9 – Obersteinberg – Natural Paradise Hinteres Lauterbrunnental
When I post geotagged images on the go, I like to browse through the series of images taken with the same geotag. So every now and then I discover great accounts like @sejkko from Madeira. I like the minimalist style and soft tones of the paintings.
Lately, I’ve been following some food accounts because we’ve been getting more involved with food photography and food styling ourselves. Very casual food pictures show the two ladies from @commesoie.
I discovered @carolinavd thanks to a feature on @instagramde. In their feed, there are tons of great ideas on how to decorate your home beautifully.
Finnish Lapland is also represented in my stream with great Instagrammers. My current favorite pictures are those of the Finnish photographer @eevamakinen.
In une_olive, I like the successful mix of images with an eye for detail. Personally, I like architectural photos and street pictures very much – but I still have to “re-educate” my followers (see #bestnine above).
You can marvel at enchanting winter landscapes at @sannalinn.
In St. Petersburg I came across the accounts of @urayxor and @nova_kate. At Yura, the focus is on architectural photography and if you scroll through his stream, you will find interesting photo locations. Kate, on the other hand, shows the pretty (and photogenic) cafes on her account.
