Hooray! Road trip through the Canadian Rockies

I can’t believe myself that I managed to keep this bombastic news secret until this moment. That’s definitely not one of my strengths. But now I can finally trumpet it out loud! As you read this, I’m somewhere between Zurich and Calgary on my way to a huge adventure. For ten days I will explore the ski resorts of the Canadian Rockies. From Calgary I head towards Banff, where I will dare to ski in Mount Norquay and Sunshine Village as well as other winter activities. Then it’s on to Lake Louise to the legendary Fairmont Chateau with a view of the frozen lake against the impressive mountain backdrop. A real challenge awaits me a few days later on the drive to Jasper via the Icefields Parkway – one of the most beautiful roads in the world – you know, driving a car is always a challenge for me, but driving 230 kilometers alone through the wilderness of the Rockies is a completely different league. I’ve recorded the route below and thanks to some Instagrammers who have just explored wintry Alberta, there’s already a first taste of what I’ll be posting on Facebook and Instagram in the next few days. Are you ready to join me on this adventure?! I’m looking forward to all your comments and tips and keep my fingers crossed that I will get through driving without hysterical panic attacks:)

Buckle on! Come on.
