This is how Portugal washes

If you follow me on my travels on Instagram, you will have already seen one or the other picture that I show you here. I spent five days in beautiful but unusually cold Portugal over Pentecost and was inspired by the incredibly diverse way laundry can be dried outside in the alleys of Porto and Lisbon to create a small Instagram photo series. Aren’t they just beautiful these laundry pictures? I think I’m going to install something in front of my balcony to bring some color into the dreary everyday life of the building’s façade with my laundry.

The undisputed number one on my lingerie hit list is the laundry pig <3!

Once again, I asked myself why we don’t see the laundry outside so much. Is it the culture, the lack of tumblers (although I never use them either), is it forbidden here…??? Do you have any explanations?
