Temporary Vienna city apartment
No, unfortunately they didn’t offer me a temporary apartment at Schönbrunn Palace – I would have been satisfied with Sisi’s bedroom. Honest! But almost around the corner to Schönbrunn Palace and within walking distance of the Westbahnhof train station, I got another opportunity to test a temporary apartment. I’ve already written here why I think holiday apartments are a great accommodation alternative to hotels, hostels or Airbnb on a city trip – especially if you are traveling in small or larger groups and want to cook comfortably.
The Viennese apartment was made available to us by GowithOh, who now rent out holiday apartments in 17 European cities. In Vienna itself, they offer a wide range of apartments, which are located in different price categories and in different parts of the city. There is something for every taste.
Our apartment was on the second floor of an old apartment block, which didn’t look particularly neat from the outside. However, the apartment itself presented itself quite attractively with high rooms and functional furnishings. When choosing the furniture, an attempt was made to create a stylish ambience – at first glance, this works relatively well.
The approximately 45m2 apartment offers space for 4 people, has, among other things, a fully equipped kitchen (including Nespresso machine), a washing machine and dishwasher. Internet use is also included – the Wi-Fi password is clearly visible on the living room wall. The approximate price per person per night for this apartment is currently 28 euros. For this price, you can enjoy the comfort of being the owner of your own temporary apartment and being able to do as you please.
A holiday apartment can be conveniently booked online at GowithOh via their user-friendly website. When clicking on the respective apartments, they are presented with many pictures and detailed information about the respective furnishings is provided. It is important to inform about the arrival time before arrival so that the keys can be handed over accordingly. This worked perfectly for us. When leaving, you simply leave the key in the apartment, pack your belongings and close the door.
The only negative thing we noticed was the slightly strange taste from the toilet – but the reason for this is probably due to the old building substance.
Note: The apartment was provided to us by GowithOh – thank you very much for this. As always, my readers can be sure that I always represent my views and enthusiasm here.
