A walk through the Alfama
For a walk through Alfama, the oldest district of Lisbon, few words and a lot of heart are enough. Wandering around is strongly recommended and the ever-present Castelo de São Jorge serves as a fixed point.
If the crowds around the Castelo get on your nerves, you will find contemplative peace and quiet in the many small side streets. Go in search of the various miradouros – viewpoints that offer picturesque views of the Tagus River and other parts of the city, and enjoy the moments of simple beauty.
The only thing that went crazy for us was the weather. Sunshine and downpours alternated by the minute. On some pictures you can guess what it looked like five minutes later…
