Gantrischseeli hike – circular route in the Gantrisch Nature Park
Hello autumn and Gantrischseeli! Wet and cold, the weather was really creepy this morning. Wistfully mourning the warm summer days doesn’t help at all. Well, what to do? A cozy day on the sofa with an exciting book, warm tea and good music may sound tempting, but to a certain extent I feel more wrinkled than relaxed afterwards.
My recipe is: confrontation with the perpetrator – out into the autumn landscape. Since I am lucky enough to have grown up in the middle of a nature park, beautiful excursion destinations are practically on my doorstep. So I grab my mom, umbrella, rain jacket and we’re already jetting through wafts of fog towards Gurnigel.
For a long time, my mom wanted to show me the Gantrischseeli, which is romantically hidden in a fir forest. The natural lake almost silted up a few years ago, but was “saved” thanks to a lot of commitment.
We park the car at the Untere Gantrischhütte. After a 20-minute walk, the Seeli appears in front of us and, despite cloudy skies and light drizzle, presents itself in its very own beauty. Every few minutes, the mood changes. Gantrisch and Bürglen hide in the clouds from time to time. The Seeli reflects the fir trees and the pyramid-shaped “Bire”, which is a popular ski touring mountain in winter.
Hiking around the Gantrischseeli
Once around the lake with fresh mountain air and raindrops on my face and I feel really far, far away from the city. Who needs a deep blue sky to be happy? The thistles reveal with their retracted heads that the weather will probably not get any better today and so we make our way back to the Gantrischütte after a short detour to the Birehütte, where we buy goat cheese and disturb the Sunday peace of the donkeys with our umbrellas. Here, the mountain hut coffee and a nut peak perfect the Sunday feeling.
And p.s. since my camera is still at the doctor’s, there are more Instagram pictures – please send complaints to Sertronics ;)
