Wellness in the heart of Switzerland – immerse yourself, revive, enjoy

My May weekends were rainy without exception. Unfortunately, dear Mr. Petrus made no exception for my eagerly awaited weekend at Lake Sarnen. I would have loved to enjoy the phenomenal mountain panorama of Central Switzerland and the rich spring colours of the alpine meadows on a hike. No chance, it only rained once… Luckily, Perfectfor2 (the name says it all) sent us to a nice place where you can relax even when it rains.

Lake Sarnensee-Seehotel-Wilerbad

The Seehotel Wilerbad is slightly elevated above Lake Sarnen and would offer a great panoramic view including an enviable sun terrace. Since the sun didn’t want it at all, we took a lot of time to immerse ourselves in the new spa world of the hotel. More than 400 years ago, people bathed in the Wilerbad. The hotel revives this old tradition with the newly created 1,300m2 spa area.

During the construction of the spa area, a lot of emphasis was placed on the use of natural materials. The connection between quiet zones inside and those outside in nature is also very nice. On a beautiful summer’s day, for example, you could relax here perfectly to the sound of birds chirping and the rustling of leaves outside.

I immediately felt completely comfortable and couldn’t wait to try everything. In addition to a (somewhat cold) outdoor bath and a brine bath, it has three different saunas, a steam bath and an ice mist shower (which is incredibly great). But my favorite is definitely the Himalayan salt sauna, which was something completely new for me. I also brought my feet into summer shape and was absolutely thrilled from the fantastic one-hour pedicure.

The spa day went by in no time and in the evening enjoyment was in the foreground. In the restaurant “Fyf Farbä” a candlelight dinner awaited us. I always get a little nervous when the atmosphere is too romantic. But here it was in an absolutely tolerable framework and I was able to concentrate on the essentials – i.e. the food – which tasted excellent.

Despite bad weather, a perfect feel-good weekend for two!

Note: Perfectfor2 invited me to this relaxation weekend – thank you very much for that. As always, my readers can be sure that I always represent my views and enthusiasm here.
