Travel snapshot – Mainhattan my love

In Switzerland, high-rise buildings usually lead to unbearable nagging. Whether and how and where and at all – the high-rise debate runs in an endless loop and I believe that the dear ladies and gentlemen politicians, opinion leaders, citizens, planners, architects and whoever else wants to give their two cents will never agree on how to proceed. Thus, the Prime Tower, with an incredible 126 m (compare the Burj Khalifa with 828 m), is and remains the tallest Swiss building in its class for the time being.

Well, I like skyscrapers and if they don’t exist in Switzerland, then I’ll just go to Frankfurt. Ätsch. Frankfurt has Mainhattan and that’s almost as great as the real Manhattan. A four-hour train ride instead of an eight-hour flight – a fair deal. To be honest, you should admit that New York is definitely ahead of Frankfurt in the skyline comparison. What is unique about Frankfurt, however, is the combination of historic towers and modern skyscrapers.

Individually, I don’t think the towers are that pretty. I don’t really warm up to Norman Foster and his Commerzbank Tower either. However, I think the overall picture is very successful and can best be admired during a boat trip on the Main.

Do you like skyscrapers or do you think they’re stupid? And which city is suitable for high-rise fans (except Manhattan, of course)?
